Liquid Cheese and Stereo High Present Concert

Liquid Cheese and Stereo High, from Las Vegas will present an all ages free concert at Mikeys' Place on July 29.  Make sure you are there around 9:00.

The music is rock/reggae/ska/punk blend and don't forget the Tejano on top.  Its good stuff and you need to be there to take it all in.  Attached is a cool Stereo High tour Poster

Check out Liquid Cheese at their official website at myspace http://myspace.com/liquidcheese .  Check out Stereo High at http://www.myspace.com/wearestereohigh .

Yes, its free, but, come on, a donation of $3.00 or more sure would help these guys defray some expenses.  The sound is second to none, you get an opportunity to score some new music CDs, and there will be drinks available, and so on - they work hard and deserve your support.

If you need instructions on how to get to Mikey's Place go to our map that clearly shows our location near the intersection of Conway and Main Street (one block south of University) or call us at 575-640-3869.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Mikey's Place Presents Scholarship Concert

Mikey's Place presented its second annual scholarship benefit concert - Hilarity Ensues.  Our deepest thanks to the artists that made it possible - Alissa VanCamp, Amber Cronin, and Sally Detzel.  Also a special thank you goes to Jason Cronin who accompanied the artists on the piano.  If it were not for these generous people - who donated their time - the concert would not happen.  Also thanks to Jason Vancamp who provided technical assistance for the performance.  Our eternal appreciation goes to you all.

This year's scholarship winner is Elizabeth Staski.  Congratulations.  We look forward to hearing alot more from her in the future.  See our scholarship section to learn more about her.

Mesilla Valley Dance Spring Lineup At Mikey's Place

Jessica at White SandsJessica Trembly was born in Arizona where she began her dance instruction at Eastside Ballet Center and the New School for the Arts and Academics.  From 2002-2003 she performed as a senior company member of the Eastside Ballet and Jazz Ensemble.  In 2007 she received her BA in Dance from the University of New Mexico; graduating summa cum laude.  She is now a professional dancer in the Mesilla Valley and Mikey's Place is fortunate and proud to have her as a Resident Artist.

At Mikey's Place she is offering a unique class:  Modern Dance and Improvisation for ages 7 and up.  Download and post her flyer on your refrigerator.  Modern Dance was born in the early 20th century when the rules of ballet were shed and dancers began rediscovering what inspires movement.  Modern Dance is performed barefoot and spends more time moving up and down off of the floor than Ballet or Jazz.  Improvisation experiments with concepts of space, shape, time and energy without inhibition and is a useful choreographic tool for creating dances.  Please register for this class at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Find more information at www.mesillavalleydance.webs.com

Jessica brings an energy to the dance floor that is rarely seen.  Her philosophy is to teach dance with a friendly, gentle spirit and to instill a love of movement, understanding of technique and kinesiology, while stimulating the imagination.  Go to our calendar for times and dates of her winter/spring classes.   Sign up early to assure a spot in the classes.
